With new districts being drawn after the recent redistricting process, more candidates are announcing their campaigns in Dallas County. 

Democratic Candidate for Iowa House District 28 Tom Walton announced his campaign that includes portions of Dallas County including Van Meter and Adel and parts of rural Dallas County.

Walton is currently the Director of Legal Services and General Counsel for Delta Dental of Iowa. In the past both Governor Chet Culver and Governor Terry Brandstad appointed him to serve as the public representative for the Iowa Criminal and Juvenile Justice Advisory Council and Iowa Public Safety Advisory Board and Walton served on those boards from 2010-2018.

Some of Walton’s priorities include focusing on effective state government, improving Iowa’s quality of life and full investment in programs that encourage Iowans to stay here and others to come to Iowa.
