A Guthrie County club received a large amount of money from the Ten Squared Women of Guthrie County and now is planning on starting a big project.

The Panora Garden Club received $11,000 from the all female non-profit organization and will use those funds on their next project, the beautification of Heritage Park. Vice President of the Panora Garden Club JoAnn Johnson says this money will go towards making improvements to Heritage Park next to the Raccoon River Valley Trail.

The area has become overgrown with some trees and brush and (those) just bigger. Labor, then the ladies are able to do themselves, and so we will be hiring some work done. We’ll be working to get that water fountain working. We’re going to dress the trails and then buy additional drought resistant plants.”

Johnson is excited to get the project underway once the weather warms up.
