With the winter season wrapping up, the Guthrie County Secondary Roads Department will start focusing on major road projects
County Engineer Josh Sebern says they are gearing up for the projects that were approved this past winter for this year’s construction season. Sebern states that those projects include patching and overlaying County Road F-32 (190th or Wichita Road) going west with asphalt and replacing the bridge in Menlo south of the interstate. Sebern describes the details of the new bridge in Menlo.
“That will be a whole new bridge structure tied in with Dallas and Madison counties in a bridge bundling package, that was a grant opportunity that was awarded to the state of Iowa, and Guthrie County was lucky enough to be a recipient.”
Sebern says both projects will be funded through federal dollars and use road use tax money for the Menlo bridge and farm-to-market money for the F-32 patching.
