Head Coach for Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center f girls track and field team gave his praise to the group after the meet in Ames last week.

Coach Collin Shawgo says he sees the first meet as a building block for the rest of the season.

” We have a lot of freshmen and sophomores, so getting them the experience of racing against a lot of the other schools around the state was good for them. I think it was a confidence booster for all of them because they all finished higher than they were seeded going into the meet. So overall, I thought it was a very successful day.”

AC/GC had a couple of podium placements that include Chloe Largent finished in second place for girls high jump and Hayden Coffman, Saige O’Brien, Sophie Dorsey and Jenna Rowley placed third in the 4×60 shuttle hurdle relay. Their next meet will be March 28th at Greene County.
