The Stuart City Council met Monday.

The Council approved the promotion of Police Officer Katie Guisinger to sergeant and a request for overtime and part-time pay during employee absence.

The Council held a public hearing for the 2022-23 fiscal year proposed budget and approved  the item, along with having a public hearing and approving the development agreements with Aust Hotels and SH & B LLC, including annual appropriation tax increment revenues to the payment of the agreement.

The Council approved a city attorney proposal to hire Finneseth Dalen-Powell and a residential building permitting proposal and town cleanup date is set for April 29-30.

The Board approved a Countryside cemetery mowing bid for $31,500 and a spraying  bid for $2,500 and sale of three vehicles for roughly $21,500 and the water tower improvement project permanent easement for construction and maintenance of the water distribution system from the following property owners S&C Partners LLC and Community Care Center.

The Council approved two proposals for liability insurance renewals from Town and Country and United Risk Services And First Mainstreet Insurance,and heard Historic Preservation Commission and Economic Development Director update. The Council approved a new business called Quickstar on the South east side of the interstate
