A Churdan man was recently sentenced to probation for a drug-related incident.
According to court documents, 23-year-old Luke Molle pled guilty to a serious misdemeanor for his first offense for possession of marijuana. He had a two day jail sentence suspended and was placed on probation for one year with Boone and Greene County Probation Services.
The charge stemmed from an incident on May 9, 2020. Court documents show a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped Molle’s vehicle at 11pm on E Avenue and 240th Street because the vehicle had no license plates and he was swerving. The deputy noticed signs that Molle was under the influence and during a consent search of the vehicle, a green leafy substance was found. He was charged with an OWI.
Molle told the deputy he had no other drug items on him. As he was being booked into jail, Molle was found to have marijuana on his person and was additionally charged.
Molle was sentenced to one year of probation, after having all but two days of a one year jail sentence suspended in September of that year for the OWI charge. The most recent sentence also included dismissed charges of a felony for possession of contraband in a correctional facility and a misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also ordered to pay over $500 in fines, surcharges and court costs.
