A bill that would restrict the COVID-19 vaccine cleared a first hurdle in the legislative process.

House District 20 Representative Ray Sorensen says House File 2298 passed the Iowa House which allows kids to attend grades kindergarten through 12th grade, colleges and child care centers without a COVID-19 vaccine. Sorensen explains he has gotten a lot of questions from constituents about vaccine requirements in learning environments.

The issue is a lot more heightened when it comes to children. And so this ensures that Iowa parents can make their own decisions based on what’s best for their child.”

Sorensen adds the government does not know what is best for a child, but parents do. To read this bill that is still active in the legislative process visit here.
