One venue in Jefferson is continuing to bring in musical acts as more in person events are returning.

Classic rock band Great White will perform at the Greene Room events center at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson Friday. After the band first got its start in the late 1970s, they gained popularity in the mid-to-late 1980s and produced hit songs such as “Once Bitten, Twice Shy.” Lead guitarist and co-founding member of the band, Mark Kendall, says his favorite album was 1987’s “Once Bitten.”

“We just became honest. In between songs, they’d hear me noodling around and they’re going, ‘Man, you should be playing that stuff,’ because it had nothing to do with what we were recording at the time. I go, ‘Really, like you want me to play anything I want?’ It actually made it a lot easier on me just to be able to be myself and just play.”

Kendall says the band consists of himself on lead guitar, Scott Snyder on bass, Mitch Malloy as lead singer, Audie Desbrow on drums, and Michael Lardie on rhythm guitar. He talks about the difficulties of performing on the road.

“Traveling is the hardest thing about being in a band, it’s not the show. It’s like a boxer. The hardest thing is getting up at 4 in the morning and running five miles right? But the fight itself is easy. And I’m not saying it’s easy to play a show, but we do bring maximum energy, bring the crowd right into the show from the beginning, and just give it our all. The fans have been so loyal, they sing the songs. So it’s usually a great night and I’ll look forward to playing in Iowa.”

The doors will open at 7pm and the show will be at 8pm on Friday. General admission tickets are $25 and can be purchased by clicking the link below.
