While the Panorama Panthers girls track and field team prepares for the start of the season this year, it’s time to look back on the successes from last year.
Panorama Panthers Girls Track Coach Greg Thompson says last year was filled with success as he says events qualified for the Drake Relays which brought home three medals. Thompson says at both the conference and state qualifying meets there were good results and then it was on to the state meet.
“We get to the state meet and we ended up fourth on some very strong performances. Jaidyn Sellers winning two events, we were runner in the distance medley that had two freshman and two seniors on it, so those two freshmen return. Zoey Hambleton, and she will be looking to be a sprinter and a hurdler for us and of Jaidyn Sellers and then the rest of the most of our points came from seniors that are no longer here. We placed well in the four by four also so it was a great spring last year and we hope that momentum carries through.”
The first track meet of the season for the Panthers girls track and field team is next Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Earlham High School for an early bird meet.
