AC/GC track and field has performed in an indoor meet this year but has yet to compete outside.

Head Coach Cody Matthewson says there is a big difference when performing in events outdoors opposed to indoors.

“See a lot of different things with times because of the size of the track. You know, you’ll see some times drop. So you can’t really put a thumb on and you can’t really fully evaluate times and everything across the state and where you sit right out of the gate because one, not everybody runs indoors to the tracks are 200 meters or a 300 meters. Where did they run? That all changes to the times and the amount of turns that you have which can add time.”

Matthewson says once every school starts running on a consistent basis on a 400 meter tracks that’s when they can truly can get a good evaluation of their group. AC/GC girls and boys track and field teams will be competing that the Greene County meet Monday March 28th starting at 4:30pm.
