This past week’s rainfall helped to alleviate some dryness in the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area.

According to the National Weather Service, Guthrie Center saw 1.05 inches of precipitation this past week, while Jefferson reported 0.83 inches and Perry had 0.71 inches. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, only the northwestern corner of Guthrie County and northeastern corner of Dallas County are abnormally dry. The rest of those counties are no longer in a drought. However, the northwestern third of Greene County is in a moderate drought and the rest of the county, with the exception of the extreme southeastern corner, is abnormally dry.
