Dallas Center – Grimes boys and girls track and field teams competed on Thursday night in an event in Grinnell against Little Hawkeye Conference competition. For the Mustangs, they were able to find some positive results throughout the day.

On the girls side, Maddie Schmitz was able to get first place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1 minute. The 4×400 meter relay team was first with a time of 4 minutes 16 seconds, the team being  Mara Redenius, Skyler Blessman, Meredith McDermott, and Schmitz.

For first place finishes on the boys side, Aiden Ramsey got first in the 800 meter run with a time of 1 minute 58 seconds. The 4×200 meter relay team was able to be ahead of everyone with a time of 1 minute 35 seconds. The runners included Zach Smid, Jimmy Seeman, Gavin Todd, and Bo Huston.

There were multiple 2nd and 3rd place finishes for DCG, as they were able to put together a strong showing overall.

For both of the DCG teams, they will have more meets coming up next week, as they were able to get some positive results throughout the day in Grinnell.
