The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department has teamed up with another organization to improve everyone’s health.
JPRD and Greater Life Chiropractic are sponsoring the 2022 Lifestyle Challenge. Teams of 2-6 people will compete in a weekly competition where participants can improve their lives through weight loss, exercise and good nutrition. Those individuals can also utilize the amenities at the Greene County Community Center and you don’t have to be a community center member to participate.
The program is 11 weeks long and includes weekly weigh-ins that happen every Friday, with two different times at the community center, from 6:30-9am and 3:30-5:30pm. The first weigh-in will be on April 8th. Each participant will also receive free entry into the Bell Tower Festival 5k run/walk, instructor-led fitness classes, blood pressure and heart rate tests, and a fitness test on the first and last week of the program. Additionally, there will be a cash prize for the individual and team winner.
The cost for the Lifestyle Challenge is $40 per person or $30 if your employer pays for your entry. Call the community center at 515-386-3412 or click the link below for a registration form.
