A reminder that tonight is the Greene County High School Prom. 

The theme is “Around the World” and Junior Class Vice President Bella Schroeder comments about her fellow classmates’ choice in the theme.

“I love the theme this year. I love traveling and learning about other countries, and I think it’s really exciting and a cool theme. Because you can do kind of a lot with it. And it’s really nice because we can include our foreign exchange students as well in this theme.”  

The grand march is back open to the public and that starts at 6pm at the high school auditorium and it will also be livestreamed on the school’s YouTube page. The banquet takes place at 7pm with a pasta bar and cupcakes will be prepared by the Ram Restaurant, followed by the dance from 8-11:30pm. After Prom festivities with games and a hypnotist will be at the middle school gym from midnight-2:30am, with the doors opening at 11:30pm. 

Junior Class President Olivia Shannon expresses her thoughts about prom returning to pre-covid conditions.

“It was really nice. Last year I know they had to have signups for who could come to the grand march, they had to get on kids about wearing masks. So this year having all of that free and not having to do as much planning, that’s been really nice. The planning of all of it I’ve really enjoyed, just getting to decide like what we’re going to do and getting the rest of the grade’s input has been nice.”   

Both the banquet and dance will be at the Greene Room events center at Wild Rose in Jefferson.
