A familiar face recently took over as the Greene County Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator.
Samantha Hardaway is a Greene County native and is a 2018 Greene County High School graduate. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Iowa State University. Hardaway was a part of the Greene County 4-H program for nine years, where she also served as a 4-H Young Leader. Additionally, she worked the past two summers as the Extension summer intern.
Hardaway talks about why she wanted to take on the new venture of being the Greene County Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator.
“4-H is something that’s had a huge impact on my life and it was just something that really benefited me and helped me as I went through life. I love Greene County, I love being close to home, and close to family. This just seemed like the perfect opportunity.”
Hardaway talks about her goals with the new position.
“We already have an amazing program here in Greene County, (with) lots of involvement, lots of different projects. I would just love to see us getting more involved, and having more opportunities for the youth, more workshops, and possibly even some summer camps this summer.”
Hardaway takes over the role, following the resignation of Kayla Willms earlier this year.
