While the coronavirus pandemic continues on, there are still ways for Dallas County residents to receive COVID-19 testing if they need it.

Dallas County Health Department Community Health Administrator Abigail Chihak says there are multiple ways people can receive COVID-19 testing throughout the county, including one with the health department.

“At our office we have the PCR COVID-19 tests that people can pick up, collect their saliva sample using the directions and then mail back to the State Hygienic Lab using the prepaid label in the kit. The lab is currently getting those results back to people within 12 to 24 hours of receiving the sample. You can also order those kits online at testiowa.com.”

Chihak tells Raccoon Valley Radio there are also other options for people if they would like a rapid test including ordering rapid tests online, through covidtest.gov, or you may be able to get testing from other means.

“Additionally, most pharmacies or doctors offices are able to do testing for a fee. You may also be able to find over the counter COVID-19 tests for sale at the pharmacy or the grocery store.”
