A venture to help connect employers with potential employees and discuss the workforce will take place tomorrow in Perry.

The joint effort is between the Chamber, City of Perry, Perry Economic Development and the Greater Dallas County Development Alliance and will take place tomorrow from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at La Poste in Perry. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the issues being seen in the workforce area can be seen all around the country.

“This is something that we are hearing from employers from different businesses, of different sizes, different types, across the board here in Perry but also it’s an issue across the state and across the nation workforce being a challenge, having enough people to hire, having the skill sets that are ready to go and so it’s just something that as far as workforce development goes just having enough has always been an issue but then finding the right fit and then making sure that they are skilled or can be trained.”

Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio the goal of the roundtable is to bring people together to discuss issues currently being seen in the workforce while also creating conversation about potential solutions.

“We are really excited to bring together the heavy hitters from across the state that are here and available to assist businesses.”

The event will also have support from IowaWorks and Des Moines Area Community College. For more information on the event you can go here
