Greene County and Webster City played high school golf against each other on Tuesday. The girls played west of Grand Junction at The Hill and the boys played the Lynx on their home course at Webster City.

The boys’ match went to the Lynx 165-212 as Coach Heath Telleen was missing much of his team due to a variety of reasons. He played just four varsity players and three of the four are normally JV players. Garret Arnold of WC was the meet medalist for nine holes at 37. Parker Fitzpatrick led the Rams at 47, followed by Nathan Behne 51, Parker Lehman 56, and Crew Conner 58. The coach said, “I want to commend Parker, Parker, and Crew for stepping up to help us. They have done a great job for us in a new situation.”

On the girls’ side, Alex Miller led the Rams with a 52, good for runner-up medalist honors. “We were one golfer down and we couldn’t score as a team with three players. Alex Miller played well again and is very consistent at the meets this year,” Coach Josh Carlson said. He added Maggie Mikkelen shot 59, improving her score by 14 strokes from the first meet this season. Mame Gnom shot 77. Katie Casady of WC was medalist at 47.
