Jackson Morton

Woodward-Granger hosted a coed high school track & field meet last night in Woodward. Although complete final results haven’t been received by Raccoon Valley Radio, Greene County boys’ head coach Chad Morton reports at least one outstanding performance.

Ram senior Jackson Morton tuned up for Friday’s Drake Relays 110 meter high hurdles preliminaries by winning in Woodward with a new personal best time of 14.65 seconds, .17 faster than his previous best. Morton’s time is one of the fastest ever recorded for a high hurdler in any Jefferson-based program for boys, whether it was Jefferson, Jefferson-Scranton, or Greene County. He moved up from a tie for eighth to fifth place by himself according to statistical website Varsity Bound. Morton will run the preliminaries of the 110 high hurdles at the Drake Relays this Friday morning at 8:15. The field of 32 will be trimmed to eight finalists and that race is set for 10:35 Friday morning.
