An upcoming program with the Dallas County Conservation Board that will feature a river float can be registered for now.

For those wanting to learn more about rivers, the Moved by Moving Water program will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 4th and will have naturalists taking participants on an educational river float in one of the branches of the Raccoon River.

Along the way participants will stop and take water quality measurements, explore the aquatic ecosystem, discuss the history of the river and observe stream dynamics among other things. Registration is required to attend.

Those attending must provide their own boats, paddles and life jackets and the location will be announced based on river conditions. For more information or to register you can go here.
