
With Memorial Day on Monday, there are plenty of services that will be taking place throughout Dallas County to remember those who have died in service to our country.
The Minburn American Legion Post 99 will host a Memorial Day program on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. at Brown Cemetery and then going to Kimrey Cemetery at 10 a.m., Elmwood Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. and the Raccoon River Bridge at 11 a.m.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2060 in Perry will host the Memorial Day services on Monday beginning at 1 p.m. at Violet Hill Cemetery which will include a speech, prayer, roll call and Taps. Dallas Center will be hosting its Memorial Day program beginning at 10 a.m on Monday in Mound Park and those attending are asked to bring a lawn chair.
Also, the Fairview United Methodist Church in Perry will hold its annual Memorial Day program beginning at 9 a.m. Monday and the program will conclude with a gun salute in the cemetery by the Rippey American Legion. The Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery in Adel will be returning to in-person ceremonies beginning at 8 a.m. Monday and the event can be live-streamed for those who can’t make it which can be found here.
Then the American Legion Penoach Post 464 will be hosting its Memorial Day program beginning at 9 a.m. Monday in the Oakdale Cemtery in Adel.
