Greene County lost a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference baseball game at Nevada 4-1 on Wednesday night. The loss was the fifth straight for Greene County as they drop to 3-8 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

Bryce Stalder took the pitching loss going all six innings. He allowed three earned runs on eight hits, one walk, and two hit batsmen. Stalder struck out a career best 11 batters. Nevada scored two runs in the third inning and two more in the sixth. The lone Greene County run came in the seventh inning. Both teams had two errors.

Stalder doubled for the only extra base hit by the Rams. Brayden Roberts singled and drove in the Greene County run. Matthew Hovick, Joe Carey, and Max Riley, added singles.

The Cubs improved to 6-5 and 3-3 in conference play. Next up for Greene County is a home game Friday night at Allensworth Field in Jefferson vs. the Saydel Eagles.
