
The softball team added some extra innings to last night’s game against the Ogden Bulldogs. The Bulldogs scored first and fast, taking a 1-0 lead until the 5th inning, when the Wildcats scored two runs of their own. In the 7th inning the Bulldogs scored another run to tie the game 2-2, and it took the Wildcats until the 9th inning to score one more run, and finish the game with a 3-2 victory.
The hits leader for the team was junior Tasha Williams, who had 2 hits, a batting average of .500, and 2 single base hits. Leading in the runs batted in category was fellow junior Kinsey Alt, who had 1 hit, a batting average of .200, and 1 run batted in. When it came to both the pitching categories, another junior lead the way for the Wildcats. Marissa Hagen came away with an earned run average of .78, 9 innings pitched, and 10 strikeouts.
Wildcats baseball and softball return to action tonight, when they travel to Van Meter to take on the Bulldogs.
