Perry, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Dallas Center-Grimes students will make their way to the Des Moines Civic Center for the Iowa High School Musical Theater Award Showcase this weekend.

For ADM, they will perform “Freaky Friday” which received awards including Distinguished Scene for “Women and Sandwiches,” and Michael Payne received an award for Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role for his performance as Adam.

Perry will perform “Anything Goes” (2018 Revision) and Tony Roe and Riley Sergent each received Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role and Bryce Eastman and Sebastian Hernandez each received Special Recognition for Performance in a Principal Role. The production also received an award for Outstanding Overall and Technical Achievement.

Dallas Center-Grimes will be performing “Disney’s The Little Mermaid” which received awards for Outstanding Overall and Technical Achievement and Outstanding Student Orchestra. Anthony Glay, Alex Pries and Campbell Valline each earned an award for Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role. Ellie Cole, Anna McKernan, Norah Southwick and Bailey Pierce were recognized for Outstanding Achievement in a Technical, Creative or Business Role. DCG also received special recognition for Community Engagement and Ryan Fitch, Owen Pries and Emma Sump each received Special Recognition for Performance in a Principal Role.
