The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
The Board approved an amendment to a plat of survey for a property south of Jefferson along the Raccoon River Valley Trail. Attorney Keith Pedersen said following a family member passing away, when the land went to auction, part of the property was owned by one individual and another part was owned by a different person. The request was to change language in the description to say “or” instead of “and” as far as the directions for the property.
The Board then approved an agreement with Nyhart for actuarial services for $3,300 as related to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) post-employment benefits, appropriating 85-percent of the 2023 fiscal year budget to county departments and officials, along with the 2023 fiscal year salary and wage schedules. They also approved insurance renewals with Heritage Insurance with the Iowa Communities Assurance Pool (ICAP) and the Iowa Municipal Workers’ Compensation Association (IMWCA).
Additionally, the Board agreed to pay $500 toward the $927 cost for a land survey that was done for a Pioneer Cemetery in Kendrick Township. There was a concern of someone driving through the cemetery and so the township trustees had the one acre cemetery surveyed and the corners of the property were marked off. The Board is using its funds in the Pioneer Cemetery account and County Engineer Wade Weiss agreed to install a driveway so people could visit the area.
Finally, the Board re-canvassed the votes from the Republican Primary election for Greene County Supervisor District Three. Dan Benitz is the official winner, having defeated James Hedges and Cassie George for the Republican nomination.
