PCM scored all six runs in the last two innings Monday night en route to a 6-1 Heart of Iowa Activities Conference softball victory over Greene County in Jefferson. Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rams fell to 7-10 on the season and 4-7 in the conference while the Mustangs improved to 10-8 6-4.

The Rams scored in the first inning on a two-out Emma Hoyle single, followed by an RBI double down the third base line by Emma Stream, and that was it. Greene County had just five hits, three on the infield off eighth grader Riley Parsons, who struck out six and walked three. Hoyle took the pitching loss, allowing six hits, five in the last two frames, while fanning nine and walking six, and she hit one batter with a pitch.

A two-run, two out homer in the sixth by number eight hitter Reese Palm put the Mustangs up 2-1, and they added four runs in the seventh. Palm entered the game with a .212 batting average, no home runs, and just four RBI on the season.

The Rams play at Manson tonight vs. Manson-Northwest Webster in non-conference action.
