
The Perry City Council approved a cost-sharing grant from the Iowa Finance Authority at their regular meeting Monday.
The Council approved the grant which is a rural childcare market study grant which requires the City of Perry to contribute a cash match of 50 cents per one dollar awarded under the program which for Perry the cost-sharing grant was in the amount of $10,000.
Also, the Council approved the project completion of a Catalyst Grant Development and authorizing the mayor to sign a letter of project completion to the Iowa Economic Development Authority and a Perry Public Library Board of Trustees reappointment for Margaret Ruggle for a four year term.
The Council then approved tax abatement applications for residential construction completed in 2022 in Perry and setting a public hearing on the Status of Funded Activities for the community development block grant response and recovery grant contract for 8 a.m. June 30th.
Finally, the Council approved a workforce housing tax credit application to be submitted to the Iowa Economic Development Authority for Perrywood Apartments for phase two of their project, setting salaries for City of Perry employees for fiscal year 2023 and the second and third readings an ordinance amending the code of ordinance hotel/motel tax.
