Softball for the West Central Valley Wildcats returned to play last night after a well deserved break over the last half of last week. After breaking and setting a few school records in their last two games last week, the Wildcats continued the trend against the Woodward-Granger Hawks last night.

The girls were quick to score on the Hawks, getting three runs in during the 1st inning. The Hawks took some time to score, finally getting two runs in the 3rd inning, before the Wildcats grabbed another three runs in the 5th inning. The Hawks finished out the scoring for the game, grabbing another two runs in the 7th inning, and giving the Wildcats their 18th win of the season.

Leading in hits for the Wildcats was junior Kinsey Alt, who had 2 hits, a batting average of .500, and 1 run. For their runs batted in leader, the young future freshman Macy Long had 2 hits, a batting average of .667, and 2 runs batted in.

For the pitching stats, junior Marissa Hagen lead the way in both categories, with an earned run average of 2, 7 innings pitched, and 4 strikeouts. This win extends the season win record for the team, and the wins in a season by a pitcher record for Hagen.

The Wildcats will look to continue extending those records tonight, as they travel to take on the Baxter Bolts.
