The Dallas County Board of Supervisors discussed noxious weed destruction at their regular meeting Tuesday.
Weed Commissioner Jim Uthe said there is an area in the County where landowners have struggled to control weeds and wanted guidance on what should be done if the County would need to take care of removing the weeds. The Board suggested mowing as the best option but Uthe said he doesn’t believe the County will need to step in at this time.
Also, the Board approved a law enforcement center irrigation quote from Rain King for $13,400 and Cook Plumbing for $3,350 for a total of $16,750. Then the Board held the third reading of proposed amendments to Chapter 45 of the Dallas County zoning ordinance and approved the ordinance with a 2-1 vote. Supervisor Kim Chapman was not in favor of one of the amendments that he felt restricts transparency. The amendment involved site plans going through staff review first and then to the Board of Adjustment and not the Supervisors.
Finally, the Board appointed Chuck Thompson to the veterans affairs commission. The Board then held a budget workshop and approved assigned funds.
