This year’s Churdan Day was a resounding success.

Co-organizer Libby Towers says they were able to get in all of their activities, including the 5K run/walk, 3-on-3 basketball and sand volleyball tournaments. The winners of the basketball tournament was the team, “Dirty Joe and the Boys” and the winner of the sand volleyball tournament was the team, “Bennie and the Jets.”

Additionally, Churdan 2.0 served about 600 meals, which the proceeds from that fundraiser will be used to take down abandoned homes in the Churdan and repurposing the lots, along with installing an Iowa Officer Down Memorial in the pavillon. This will honor all of the officers in Iowa that have been killed in the line of duty.

The event wrapped up with musician Jesse Wilson Music and a street dance.
