Perry Fine Arts will be hosting the “Musical Extravaganza and Ice Cream Social” on Monday and it’s been happening for 47 years.

Beginning at 2 p.m. on Monday at the First United Methodist Church community members are invited to enjoy the free variety show. Perry Fine Arts Board Member Dr. Randy McCaulley says there will be a mix of styles and music that will be shared on stage.

“We have of course some patriotic songs, we have some songs of faith and some popular music as well. We’ve got a good lineup of local musicians that are going to be performing, we have a lot of vocalists but we also have a piano player and a trumpet player so it’ll be I think a really nice event for people to come out to.”

McCaulley tells Raccoon Valley Radio there will also be snacks including ice cream, lemonade and other treats after the program is over. McCaulley talks about a portion of the program where attendees can join in.

“There’s also going to be a time for the audience to participate on a couple of songs, ‘America the Beautiful’ will be a sing along with the entire audience.”

The Perry Fine Arts “Musical Extravaganza and Ice Cream Social” will be one of the activities taking place during the Fourth of July on Monday and there is no cost to attend but a free-will donation will be accepted.
