The Panorama Panthers Baseball team battled hard against the Greene County Rams on Saturday in the first round of district play but ultimately fell short ending their season.

The Panthers Baseball team participated in Class 2A Substate 2 District 4. The other teams in district 4 included Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area schools in AC/GC, Van Meter, Greene County, Woodward-Granger and West Central Valley and the Panthers faced off against the Greene County Rams on Saturday but the Rams emerged victorious by a final score of 7-0 which ended the Panthers year while the Rams are going on to take on the top-ranked and undefeated Van Meter Bulldogs.

Panthers Baseball finished their season with an overall record of 7-17 on the year picking up wins over the AC/GC Chargers which they completed the season sweep of with two wins. They also collected wins over South Hamilton, two wins over Woodward-Granger, Pleasantville and Earlham to get their seven wins this year.

While their season didn’t end the way they wanted it to there were plenty of solid performances throughout the season including Braylon Dawes finishing the season with a batting average over .400 and Brice Taylor finished with a batting average over .300. Also, Austin Block finished with an ERA under three, Brice Taylor finished with an ERA just over three and Hunter Dishman and Braedon Draper finished with ERA’s just above five and just under six respectively.

Completing the season means some seniors have played their last baseball games as a Panorama Panther in Austin Block, Austin Wetzel, Brice Taylor and Jackson Peasley.

The Panthers Baseball team has officially concluded their season after a 7-0 loss in the first round of districts where they took on the Greene County Rams and the Panthers will be looking to come back next year and make their way through another successful season.
