When Greene County goes to Harcourt tomorrow night to face Southeast Valley (Gowrie) in a Class 3A Region 2 quarterfinal softball tournament game, the Rams coach says his team will need to score more than a run or two. “We’ll need to score some runs, which probably won’t be easy against their top two pitchers. Sometimes though, we do better against a little faster pitching because our slappers can drive the ball a little better, and our right-handed hitters tend to stay back a little bit more.”

The Rams are 12-12 after starting the season 1-6. Greene County downed SEV last week in Jefferson 7-5 in a non-conference game, but SEV did not throw eighth of their best two pitchers. The Jaguars are 14-10.

Game time Wednesday evening is 7 o’clock with coverage at 6:30 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
