The Panorama Panthers Softball team is headed to Truro tonight to take on the Interstate-35 Roadrunners in the second round of regional competition.

Panthers Softball is on to the second round of regional competition after an 11-9 victory over the AC/GC Chargers last Friday in Guthrie Center that saw the Panthers collect 11 runs off of 9 hits from 31 at-bats to send the Chargers Softball team home from postseason play and the Panthers on to the next round.

Now, in the second round of regional competition Panthers Softball is on the road to Truro tonight to take on the Interstate-35 Roadrunners for the third time this season, this time for the right to continue on in the postseason. The Panthers fell earlier in the season in a double header to the Roadrunners by scores of 18-2 and 13-1.

Statistically, the Panthers are coming in with an overall record of 2-25 on the year while the Roadrunners are sitting at 22-6 and on top of the West Central Activities Conference. The players top contributors for the Panthers includes Jaidyn Sellers who is leading the Panthers in hits with 34 on a .548 batting average, Jazmyn Sellers leads the team in RBIs with 27 and in the pitching department Arilyan Steenblock leads the way in wins, ERA and strikeouts. The top contributors in those departments for the Roadrunners includes Josie McCuddin for batting stats and Shailey Dixson and Katie Murphy in the pitching department.

Dating back to 2019 these two teams have faced off against each other seven times with the Roadrunners taking each of those contests leading the historical series 7-0 since the Roadrunners left the Pride of Iowa Conference for the West Central Activities Conference back in 2018.

The Panorama Panthers Softball team is headed to Truro tonight to take on the Interstate-35 Roadrunners in round two of regional competition beginning at 7 p.m. tonight from Interstate-35 High School with the winner moving on to take on the winner of the Mount Ayr and Southwest Valley game that is also taking place today.
