The Perry girls softball team will look to take their first step to qualifying for the girls state softball tournament tonight with a 7:00 4A opening round battle against Boone.  The winner of tonight’s game will travel to ADM Saturday night.  Perry enters the postseason with a record of 13-12, with one of their victories coming against Boone.  The Jayettes defeated the Toreadors 14-7 back on June 18th at the Roland Story Tournament.  Perry pounded out 10 hits in the high scoring win over their former Raccoon River conference opponent.

Boone finished last in the Raccoon River conference this season going 2-14 and 10-23 overall.  The Toreadors enter the postseason having lost 5 of their last 6 games.  Sophomore Erin Ades has enjoyed a strong season smashing 6 homeruns and driving in 43.  Last year’s state runner up has had a difficult time keeping the opposition off the scoreboard posting a team ERA of 6.55 over four different varsity pitchers.

You can listen to tonight’s game on KDLS beginning with first pitch at 7″00 at the PAC.
