DCG softball played in their Class 4A Region 1 matchup against Denison-Schleswig on Saturday night in Grimes, and the Mustangs were able to win in a quick three inning game by the score of 12-0. DCG improves to 32-6, while the Monarchs end their season at 17-19.

DCG did not waste any time, as the team was able to score three runs in the first inning and nine in the second. They were able to pound out 11 hits, which included home runs from Elle Nelsen and Reese Burke, as the Mustangs were able to produce great at bats throughout the game.

Aubrey Johansen was able to pitch three shutout innings, striking out four.

DCG will be playing in the finals of Region 1 in Grimes tomorrow night in an intriguing matchup against Bishop Heelan, with first pitch to be at 7 pm.
