As the summer continues so does the offseason for Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center boys basketball.

Head Coach Lance Kading says he has some players playing in AAU along with going to basketball camps and playing summer league basketball. He says since the baseball season is over now they will start open gyms. Kading explains the summer offseason is important to build chemistry with his experienced team.

“Just, you know, any time we can get them all together and get them in somewhat of a live game setting and let them play together and figure some things out, it’s going to pay off.”

Coach Kading also got a chance to discuss what he has coming back for this upcoming year.

” Returning class back and hopefully keep everybody healthy. And I think with the young guys we have. We’ve got a number of guys that can step into a varsity role and play confidently and hopefully be able to play it a little bit deeper than we were last year, which will hopefully let us push the pace a little bit more, even if fast break more and have the ability to sub some guys out when they get tired and not have a drop off in production.”

The highlight of th summer so far has been Ben Marsh scoring 32 points in the top 64 summer league game.
