Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers softball will be playing in the 4A state tournament next week in Fort Dodge, with the Tigers to take on North Scott Lancers in the first round.

The Lancers come into the tournament as the seven seed, they were ranked 8th in the final IGHSAU state rankings, and come in with a 28-10 record. They are a three time state champion with the last win coming in 2002, and are making their third state appearance in the last four years.

Both of these teams met in a tournament at North Scott in the Denny Johnson Classic back in June, with the Tigers able to put together a good 5-1 victory. The Tigers were able to find home runs in that game from Aliya Yanga and Addison Banse, and Yanga only gave up 1 run on three hits while striking out seven in the matchup.

After not facing against each other in at least 15 years through varsity bound, the two programs will rematch against one another. The matchup is one of three rematches in 4A first round matchups in the 2022 season.

All Tiger postseason coverage can be heard on the home of Tiger athletics True Country K1079. First pitch is projected to be thrown at 5 pm at Kruger Seeds Field.
