Greene County head softball coach Tom Kennedy visited with Raccoon Valley Radio about the recently completed season. The Rams lost six of their first seven games, but won five of the final seven and finished at 13-13. They won 3-1 in the opening round of the postseason vs. Southeast Valley (Gowrie) on the road, then fell 1-0 at Saydel (Des Moines) to the Eagles in a Class 3A Region 2 semifinal. Saydel blasted Sergeant Bluff-Luton 11-2 in the Region 2 final to qualify for the State Tournament next week.

The coach said the team was close in a number of those early season losses. “The girls believed were could turn things around and they kept working and improving. This team really put the work in and it started to show.”

Paton-Churdan graduate Carmyn Paup is the lone senior on the team.
