While the Panorama Panthers Football Team is awaiting their return to the field in 2022, they will have a high school football camp coming up soon.

The Panthers will hold a high school football camp on Monday, August 1st and Tuesday, August 2nd for those who are entering into grades 9th-12th in the Panorama Community School District. the camp will be a lock-in at the high school and check-in is 7:30 a.m. on August 1st. The athletes will spend the night at the school and then will leave at 10 p.m. on Tuesday to go home.

The cost for the camp is $50 and will pay for five meals, snacks and drinks plus team activities and the money should be brought to the school this week. A list of what athletes should bring to the camp can be found by going here.

The Panthers football team is coming back after a season last year that saw them finish with an overall record of 1-7 on the season and missing the Class 1A playoffs for the first time since the 2018-2019 season. The Panthers won their first game of the last season against the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks by a score of 26-21 and finished their season with an 0-5 conference record.

The Panthers struggled generating points as they had three games where they failed to get into the endzone or through the uprights and two games where they failed to score more than ten points. There were still plenty of bright spots for the Panthers during the season as then sophomore running back Ryan Cogil had a good season rushing the ball, with 96 carries for 542 yards at 5.6 yards per carry, four touchdowns and his longest rush being 70 yards for a touchdown which led all Class 1A District 7 football. Cogil also had six receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown as well.

Then sophomore Klayton Bremer also produced on the defensive side with 47 tackles on the season with 36 of them being solo as well as 1.5 tackles for loss. Defensively the Panthers also notched eight interceptions on the season with now graduated Austin Block getting two and now senior Braedon Draper also getting two.

This camp will look to be one of the first activities this year for the Panthers High School football team as they prepare for the 2022-23 season.
