With the conclusion of the season for the Panorama Panthers softball team, it’s time to take a look at who should be returning for the team next year in 2023.

With an overall record of 2-26 on the year and bowing out in the second round of regional competition this year to the Interstate 35 Roadrunners, the Panthers are only losing one senior on this year’s team in Grace Webner and the rest of the team should look to return next year.

One thing to note on this season’s team is the amount of youth that was on the field including five freshman and eleven eighth graders so that’s 16 players who should be returning to the diamond next year. Also projected to return also are three sophomores and three juniors on the team. Head Coach Kylee Boettcher says having the younger players out and getting experience this year will be beneficial heading into next season especially in the pitching circle.

“There’s just so many things to celebrate and once again a lot of that stuff isn’t always reported or people don’t see but we truly are very excited for our younger pitchers and we even had some that we didn’t throw in games because they’re just not quite ready yet. That was the main focus after our last game was we gotta put in the work in the offseason and get ourselves in the best possible position to help the team come next summer.”

While the senior on the team will not be returning to the Panthers for the 2023 season next year there are multiple players who will be moving into a leadership position on the team next season as well as a host of underclassmen who have already got a little bit of experience out on the varsity field and will look to build off that next year.
