One of the last big events of the summer is happening next week in Jefferson.
Cruisin’ to the Square is set for Thursday, August 11th on the downtown square from 4:30-7pm. Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Events and Tourism Coordinator Matt Wetrich tells Raccoon Valley Radio they are shoring things up before the city is invaded by several classic and modern vehicles, while also giving out nine different awards.
“We’ve still got a few sponsorships available for those that want to sponsor one of those awards, and somebody from you or your business gets to be the one that picks the winner of said award, like ‘Best Original Paint Job’ or “Best Truck’ whatever it may be for example. But we also need a few more folks to help too. We’re just looking for like 10-12 folks (for) an hour and a half or so at a time. So if you’re interested in helping to serve food or just kind of being a part of the event, reach out to us over at the Welcome Center and we’ll find a spot for you.”
The rain date for the event is Friday, August 12th. Contact the Welcome Center at 515-386-2155 to be a volunteer or to inquire about being a sponsor.
