
Greene County individuals wanting to run for nonpartisan offices can do so now by filing their nomination papers.
Greene County Deputy Auditor Billie Hoskins tells Raccoon Valley Radio any non-party political organization, candidates nominated by petition, those running for nonpartisan office, or any Democrat or Republican parties nominations to fill a ballot vacancy have until August 31st at 5pm to fill for an elected office.
Nonpartisan offices include Soil and Water Conservation Commission, Greene County Medical Center Board of Trustees and Greene County Ag Extension Council. The conservation commission has two seats available for four year terms and requires a minimum of 25 signatures. Andy Krieger has turned in his papers. Hospital Board of Trustees is also a four year term and there are five seats available with a required number of 50 signatures. All five current board members have turned in their papers, including Jim Schleisman, Bill Raney, Doug Carman, Katerine Neese and Angie Jewett. Finally, Ag Extension Council has five seats with a four year term and a minimum of 25 signatures. Bruce Bahnson and Jeff Lamoureux have turned in their papers.
