Dallas Center – Grimes football has a game on the calendar on Friday, that will count towards their win/loss record with special circumstances in place. DCG will be playing a week zero game at home against Des Moines North, in a game that will be played with the traditional 12 minute clock and four quarters.
The game was scheduled due to Des Moines Hoover announcing earlier this year they didn’t have enough players to field a football team, but they are currently practicing and are projected to have a season as of right now.
Both teams are projected to play Des Moines Hoover, with DCG to face them in their district game in Week 7, and Des Moines North to travel to them next week for week 1.
If Des Moines Hoover does play this season, the game would no longer would be in the win-loss column for either team and both teams would call it a scrimmage. Stats would not count either.
That said, DCG and Des Moines North will play football on Friday night, as both teams will be looking to be sharp in their first action against another opponent this season.
