The home schedule of events for Greene County athletics has volleyball at home on Thursday and cross-country hosting its one home meet of the season on Saturday.
Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Rams open Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play on Sept. 8 with Roland-Story (Story City). The Norsemen are typically one of the top teams in the league and wins for the Rams vs. R-S have been scarce.
The one and only cross-country home meet of the season is set for Saturday, Sept. 10 at Jefferson Community Golf Course at 9 a.m. It’s a coed event featuring teams from a wide area. Saturday is the day of the Iowa State at Iowa football game, but kickoff isn’t until 3 p.m. in Iowa City and the cross-country meet will be done by late morning.
Greene County remains on the road for non-district high school football this Friday vs. Kuemper Catholic at Carroll Athletic Field. That game can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
