This week I was joined by Panorama head football coach Mike Kauzlarich on the Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Page.

One of the topics we discussed was how the Panthers were going to compete with a very good team like Van Meter. Coach Kauzlarich had this to say, “Hey let’s step up and against a great Van Meter team with a great defense and see if we can move the ball.”

Kauzlarich also mentioned the game plan for the defense. “The challenge I’m going to point to our kids is, we haven’t been very good at stopping the run against good run teams. Van Meter lives on the run.  I want to see if we can stop them in the run. Get them out of there inside zone stuff. Shut that down and see if they have to go to the quarterback to counter stuff or the rollout stuff like that. If we can do that, for what we want to accomplish in that game, that would be a victory for us. Try to shut down the inside, try to stop that inside zone and see what happens from there.”

The game will kickoff in Panora at 7pm tomorrow night.
