Stuart Police apprehended a man after a high speed chase last Friday afternoon. 

According to the Stuart Police Department, the incident happened at 5:03 pm at approximately 3200 block of White Pole Road when a vehicle driven by Jordin Andres Polanco of California was reckless and refused to stop for police and continued west on White Pole Road. Polanco then jumped from the moving vehicle and tried to enter into a separate vehicle. Polanco assaulted a female driver in the process and when an officer got close to Polanco he ran into a corn field where he later resisted arrest and an electric control device was deployed. 

There was a woman in the vehicle with Polanco during the pursuit who is considered to be a victim in the case. Polanco was charged with felony eluding, interference with official acts, driving while license was revoked, assault on persons engaged in certain occupation, possession of a controlled substance and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He booked into the Guthrie County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
