It’s National 4-H Week and the Greene County 4-H program has lots happening.

Greene County Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says some of the traditional activities include decorating a store window with the winning 4-H club receiving a pizza party, 4-H’ers can also refer a new member and be entered into a drawing for a prize, as well as wear a 4-H t-shirt and use the #GC4HGrowsLeaders2022 to social media and be entered into another prize drawing.

Hardaway notes there are two new activities during National 4-H Week. There will be a Fall Kick-Off Open House on Wednesday at the Extension office in Jefferson from 4-6pm. She says it’s for any new 4-H’ers, those interested in wanting to start, or returning families that need to re-enroll. Hardaway describes the other new activity of a social media challenge.

“So be sure to check out our Facebook page, Greene County Iowa 4-H” and that will have all of the updates. There will be a daily social media challenge that you can enter as a parent of a 4-H’er, completely up to you. But this will enter you in for a prize everyday.”

All 4-H events and activities are free to participate in. National 4-H Week is from October 2nd-8th.
