An adult sorority organization in Jefferson is changing its plans for its annual fundraiser.

P.E.O. Chapter CZ is hosting “Dinner With a Purpose” at The Centennial on Saturday, October 22nd. Chapter CZ President Jean Van Gilder says they have hosted a salad luncheon for over 25 years as their main fundraiser for scholarships for women and other worthy projects, but they wanted to make a change to a public night out and dinner at the restaurant at 100 East State Street. The Centennial Chef Sara Ostrander is honored to host this new event.

“I always think I wouldn’t be where I’m at without the support of so many women. So it just feels so great to be able to help out a little bit and give back. It was fun kind of working with them on what the menus going to be. It’s fun, we’ve kind of talked about what’s the ambiance going to be like? It’ll be in the evening which is kind of new, we’re not usually open at night time. And we’re going to have some music and of course fabulous desserts and food. So I think it’s going to be a really fun evening and hopefully you’ll support their mission.”

There are two seating times at 5:30 and 7:30pm and tickets are $50 each, and must be purchased in advance. The menu includes parmesan herb crusted pork loin, The Centennial House Salad and Fresh Bread, garlic yukon gold whipped potatoes, seasoned roasted vegetables, and a mini dessert selection buffet.
