The next Greene County Reads book discussion is happening later this week.

“The Lincoln Highway” by Amor Towles is a fictional story set in 1954 when the 18-year-old main character, Emmet Watson was taken home to Nebraska after serving his time in a juvenile farm camp. Emmet intended to pick up his younger sibling and head to California but he suddenly had to go to New York City after he found out two of his friends from the same farm camp hid in the warden’s vehicle.

The book discussions will take place on Thursday at the Paton Public Library at 9am, the Grand Junction Library at 2pm and the Jefferson Library will host their discussion at the Milwaukee Depot at 7pm. The discussions will be led by retired high school English teacher Jan Scharingson.
